You can visit only a minimum part of the sites discovered thanks to the excavations: preservation difficulties, due to the presence of water, suggested to re-cover most of them.
Visible areas can be divided into public buildings, like the forum and the harbour, and those belonging to private life, including houses and necropolis. Both of them should be visited to offer an image of the role of Aquileia in the ancient world.
